Last night was our first in the new house. After 8 years, 7 months, and 12 days we’re no longer fulltimers.
The house is still empty except for the master bedroom, some appliances, and essential kitchen items like a coffee maker, coffee cups, other dishes and utensils. Sleeping was comfy, but being awake needs to improve – maybe we’ll find a couch today! We still need to furnish the living room, dining room, and two offices. Also need a washer/dryer. Luckily the house came with a refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher. They seem to be original equipment, matching Maytag appliances. Not top of the line but very nice.
Last Saturday there was a large community garage sale in the area. We picked up a nice bedroom set for only $350, king size sleigh bed, with bed frame and headboard/footboard, chest of drawers, dresser with mirror, and two large side tables. It’s “American Signature” brand, which is ironic since it’s stamped “made in China”. :D
Last week I bought a 4×8 foot utility trailer in kit form and assembled it so we would have a way to transport furniture and other things. That’s a story for another blog post.
