Things You Notice Moving from RV to House

Mac How far it is from the bedroom to the kitchen!  I called Chris and she answered the phone on the 4th ring – wow, she said, I had to run to catch it, this place is big.  LOL, it’s not a big house, really!

One thing Chris appreciates is that our offices are separated and she can close the door so she doesn’t have to listen to me talk all day.  Of course, when I want her for something I have to walk all the way to her office because she can’t hear me otherwise.

Can’t find a telephone cord…

phone cordWe haven’t had a landline in 10 years.  I remember when I had 15 or 20 phone cords in varying lengths from 6 to 25 feet.  I threw most of them away and kept maybe one, which no doubt is 2,000 miles away in New Mexico.  Now we have a landline, although no phone instrument and I don’t know what my number is.  It was part of the deal with Verizon and our TV and internet would have cost the same without it so why not?  I figured I’d use it as a fax line.  Today I started to hook up our multi-function printer/fax/copier and can’t find a telephone cord anywhere!  Yes, one came with it but we still lived in the RV then and I guess I threw it away — who needs a phone cord when they don’t have a phone!?

I bet they’ll have one for a Quarter at the thrift store.

Thrift Store Patio Chairs

We found these two plastic wicker chairs in fairly good condition at the Salvation Army store on Nebraska Ave in Tampa. $40 each. Finally something to sit in outside under the lanai. Rug was a previous purchase, $25 at a garage sale.

Hot Air Balloons in the Morning

We often see hot air balloons fly over on Sunday mornings. They launch from a large field near by.  Reminds me of the nice surprise we had one morning in May 2005 while camping in New Mexico.  http://www.macandchris.com/5-05-blog.htm#Red Rock
